Growing up in my generation, the notion of waiting for your future spouse was not easily heard of. For some of us, all we ever learn about purity in youth group is making an abstinence commitment until marriage. Nevertheless, many of us walk into dating relationships haphazardly and become easily entangled in moral compromise. If we are not yielded to God in this area of our lives, then dating relationships can become an idol. This was the case for my story. So I share mine not as one who has done everything perfectly but very much imperfectly. And when we found ourselves utterly lost and enslaved to sin, we can run to the Savior who paid it all.
